Okay, I've been wondering, what are your opinions on iOlrickx? He's hardly mentioned on this blog, and I know many people who get inspired by him. It seems like you guys don't really like him or something. Explain?

    Lol omfg.
Ill explain this thnei m closing the thread.

iOlrickx is not mentioned because he is not really that good of a cwalker. He did inspire alot of people, but they all copy his overediting crap and his moves arent original, its just the basics of cwalking really fast, he has some cool transitions i guess and its impressive to pull it off that fast. But BUT UBT, all the new cwalkers try to copy this and it doesnt work, bottom line iOlrickx wouldnt be able to acheive any rank on any forum with his walk, he's just generic and there nothing that impressive or eye catching apart from his speed.
And everyone should know style > speed so yah

His videos are still good to watch, but his walk is well overhyped, if you want to watch a good cwalker find someone with their own style
    eg. Pejat, Laph etc

Yeah, I've always thought that too, I gotta admit, he's cwalk is fast, I guess that's what is amazing, but then again, his beatride would be off. I also got to admit.. I tried to copy his style, didn't turn out good, I mean, look at me now /:

Now that I'm more wise about cwalk, know more about it and stuff, when I watch his videos, I think 'meh' so I guess everybody did have the same opinion afterall. (:

    okaaaai, how about sonic?

iOlrickx - epitome of genericism (i hope thats a word), overratedness of the highest calibre.

but u know, haters gonna hate. his got the views and to the amateur eye looks pro-ass (all my friends ask me if i know iOlrickx after learning i c-walked). he probs gets loads of bitches too.

Sonic as in sonicthecwalker? imo he's pretty sick. one of my main early inspirations (especially his b-boy's war vid). he has his own developed style and although similar to iolrickx in viewcount, he deserves every view imo. the thing is he also does other things in vids, notably shuffling and freestyling... but just in terms of his c-walking, he deserves respect.

Haha you new gens. Back in our day it was VietJr. And we always had thee arguments.

Cwalking fast is boring and easy and to prove it I did a going fast snippet. No shit, got my most views by like 4x as many views as any other cwalk vid. Noobs will be impressed by speed, doesn't mean you are that good at cwalk. Oh and I don't mean to call anyone here noobs lol!! I used to love VietJr and his speed walk.

I just think Olrick is too mainstream, while i admit he is somewhat a good walker, too many people look up to him and try to copy his style; the epitomy of generic c-walking.
Sonic on the other hand has a decent style with his own advanced transitions and moves that are executed cleanly.
    Sonic > iOlrickx imo
    Style > Speed
but Sonic has a bit of both which is nice to have.

lol was wondering when this was gonna come up in here....
anyway, I dont really like him at all. I have to admit though, when i started I think i was pretty biased towards him cos of all the negative before i even knew who he was, but after being in the cwalk for this long, i can see why people dont like him.

I don't know how people can be inspired by him, but the inspirational videos were:

    The London 5 Way
    Viet Jr
The famous 3 way - forgot those walkers tho - vietshiet, slipside, or someshit.

But you gotta admit, he's got like 30k? subs and he's on no forum or anything, which is pretty fucking amazing. I think he gets his views from his music choices and his colorful thumbnails lol. and the fact that he's the stereotypical asian-american 'rappy/hip hop/cool' kid, who wears the "cool story bro, tell it again" shirts, vans, obey, crooks and castles etc. and to be honest, i'd say he's walk is better than most people, but still not THAT good. He gets all the criticism because people think a walk like that (which is decent) should not deserve like 300k views, whilst other dope cwalkers struggle to reach 3k or something. but the main thing i hate about him, well not him, but, his fans. fucking annoying kids, who say he is the best when they know nothing, i guess it shouldn't matter, because they're just dumbasses, but still, annoying. lol. AND also, he has inspired people to cwalk, but to cwalk like him, which is not that good, and yes he inspires the over editing, speed > style walk, which is just shit. but then again, cwalking is semi dying, so i guess its all not that bad, rather have 'fame, speed, faggot' walkers than no walkers!

    imo, the analogy is:
iolrickx is the justin beiber of cwalking - tons of fans, and also by people that know fuck all about cwalking, but the people who enjoy that underground, real music/hip hop hate him because they think he shouldnt deserve that many views, whilst the underground people deserve way more attention.

    my 2.5 cents.

I was never a fan of iOlrickx when I started, I found him boring - I was a big fan of Bapp0, like watched all his videos so many times. I agree style > speed but there are cwalkers who are very fast who still look great, Bapp0 for example is very very fast and sometimes sacrifices beatride forthis, but it all contributes to his style and what people like about it. Watch this video for example, I thought it was great even though it puts speed as a priority(not his fastest though):

And this one was a 5 way and one of my favourite videos ever, Bilu and Bappo were especially impressive in my eyes - It is different to what we aim for but I really like it:

dude, no offence or anything, but imo they look almost exactly the same as iolrickx -.-" all speed, very little in terms of style.

on a side note, i really hate it when people cwalk in a place with shit lighting :/

My opinion on this is that iOlrickx is someone who has a generic style, it's pretty straight forward and it's just the speed that everyone get's intrigued about. I used to like watching his videos when I first discovered him purely because of his speed.

Being apart of the shuffle community before C-walk and having the ability to meet Sonic prior to me even knowing that he c-walked was awesome because when I first saw c-walking in person was at a shuffle meetup. I think he got bored and just started c-walking and my eyes were glued to his feet for the 20/30 seconds he danced, his style is clean and I think his transitions are unique but that's just what I see whenever I see him in person or on Youtube. Although his speed is something that I like, I still think in his case Style > Speed always whenever it comes to anyone c-walking.
